Size

Description

A lightweight yet surprisingly large-volumed shell, the Partridge Tun is characterized by its swollen, globular body whorl and a very large, open aperture. The exterior features distinct, rounded spiral cords and shallow furrows that give the surface a finely grooved texture. The spire is relatively low and compact, ending in a distinct dark-tipped apex. The lip is thin and slightly fluted to match the exterior spiral ridges, lacking the heavy teeth or barriers found in some other families.
